About this Role

The Systems Integrator will integrate Commercial-Off-The-Shelf/ Government-Off-The-Shelf and bespoke systems in an existing Information Communication Technology environment under the direction of project or engineering management staff. This includes maintenance of Git/Version Control, development and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters, Python scripting for automation, and implementation and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment systems.

They will design solutions in accordance with the requirements of Defence Standard 100 with a strong understanding of system integration principles and methodologies. They will also lead, contribute to and/or perform requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation.

The specified person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of Service Management Level of Responsibility 5.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers, product owners, business analysts and senior stakeholders on the design of integrated ICT solutions and Cloud-enabled technology that support organisational outcomes within the constraints of a technology roadmap.
  • Plans and drives activities to develop organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration.
  • Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of tools, techniques and processes to create a robust integration framework.
  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of systems integration.
  • Escalate issues and seek advice from the stakeholder, Project Manager/Engineering Manager in a timely manner.
  • Lead integration work in line with the agreed system and service design, assessing risks and taking preventative action.
  • Contribute to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration.
  • Resolve issues and/or problems that arise during the course of capability development projects.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures, and working cohesively and flexibly with the broader project team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
