Job Description:
  • We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator Team Leader to lead our production facility in Melbourne, Australia.
  • This role involves supervising a team of machine operators to achieve production goals while operating machinery safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food or FMCG, and proven leadership or team leader experience within production.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supervising the line team to meet production targets while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Operating state-of-the-art chocolate moulding lines, including enrobing, depositing, mixing fillings and tempering chocolate
  • Taking responsibility for end-to-end machine operations, ensuring quality control and GMP guidelines are met

To be successful in this role, you must have strong technical and mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills and a quick learning attitude. You will also be required to perform frequent heavy lifting and manual handling tasks, maintain accurate paperwork and traceability records, and monitor stock levels and place orders when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and supervise your line team to meet production targets while maintaining a safe work environment
  2. Operate state of the art chocolate moulding lines, including enrobing, depositing, mixing fillings and tempering chocolate
  3. Take responsibility for end-to-end machine operations, ensuring quality control and GMP guidelines are met
  4. Organise packing staff at end-of-line packing stations
  5. Follow set recipes and methods to create chocolates to specification
  6. Mix and blend ingredients to prepare fillings for depositing
  7. Follow and execute production schedules
  8. Perform consistent heavy lifting of up to 25kg throughout shifts
  9. Complete machine clean down and line changeovers efficiently
  10. Maintain accurate paperwork and traceability records
  11. Monitor stock levels and place orders when required
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food or FMCG
  • Proven leadership or team leader experience within production
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a quick learning attitude
  • Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
