This role provides virtual leadership to product owners across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring the maturity, consistency, and strategic alignment of product ownership practices.

We're looking for a leader with strong people management skills, adept at influencing at senior leadership level, able to work autonomously and inspire teams to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and evolve the product owner chapter, ensuring alignment with enterprise frameworks and agility principles.
  • Define and embed tools, frameworks, and standards that support mastery in product ownership, including the creation of a product ownership framework.
  • Provide virtual leadership to product owners across Suncorp Australia and New Zealand.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement strategies to close them through training, peer learning, and external benchmarking.
  • Foster a strong sense of community, collaboration, and continuous improvement among product owners.

What We're Looking For:

  • Exceptional ability to build, influence, and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a product owner or similar with deep expertise in product ownership practices, including backlog refinement, prioritisation, and customer-centric delivery.
  • Certified training in Agile methodologies such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM), or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to align product outcomes with strategic business goals.
  • 2–4 years of leadership experience, including leading cross-functional or virtual teams in Agile environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing product owners, either formally through direct reports or informally through community leadership.
