About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic and Transport Coordinator to join our Engineering and Asset Services unit at Melton City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing functional leadership and managing the activities of the Traffic and Transport team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the Traffic and Transport Team to deliver traffic management services for Melton City Council.
  • Investigate customer requests and develop and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practice, Council policy, and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate Traffic and Transport investigations, prepare recommendations, and reports for Executive and Council consideration.
  • Liaise with Government departments, including Vic Roads, Transport for Victoria, Public Transport Victoria, Emergency Services, Police, and other statutory authorities and organizations in relation to traffic and transportation matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of traffic and transport engineering projects from concept stage to approved project, including stakeholder consultation.
  • Experience in application of computer software programs, including the Microsoft office suite, Autocad, GIS systems, and traffic modeling software.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
