Communicative Disorders Specialist

Main responsibilities of a Speech-Language Pathologist include screening, evaluating and providing appropriate services to students with communication disorders.
The role involves consultation with teachers and parents, as well as participation in Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings. Key qualifications for this position include the ability to screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders of students, good communication and human relations skills.
A Master's degree in speech-language pathology is required, along with significant expertise in evaluation and therapeutic techniques. Experience working cooperatively with professionals in related disciplines and excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential.
A Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene license or eligibility for a provisional license is required for this position. A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is desirable or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligible.
