Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose students with communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Requirements:

MA/MS or higher in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution and eligible for DOE certification or DOH License required. BA/BS in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution and must be enrolled in Graduate-level coursework prior to expiration of temporary DOE certification preferred.

Certifications:

  • Eligibility for certification from the Florida Department of Education in Speech-Language Impaired and/or Licensure from the Florida Department of Health in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Valid State Driver's License required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
