National Water Information Lead

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape the future of national water data priorities.

As the National Water Information Lead, you will play a key part in enhancing the relevance, accessibility, and impact of national water information products and services.

You will lead initiatives that uplift water information reporting and work closely with Commonwealth Government agencies and customers to support impactful decisions.

  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement and innovation in water information practices.
  • Gather and analyse customer requirements to develop opportunities that support enhanced water information reporting.
  • BUILD strong relationships with key partners and internal stakeholders to understand customer needs and realise benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, embrace innovation, and actively support a collaborative environment that enables everyone to participate.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of national water information priorities.

Collaborate with government agencies and customers to enhance water information reporting.

Represent the organisation in interagency working groups and national forums related to water information.

Analyse customer requirements and develop opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in water information practices.

Maintain trusted relationships with key partners and internal stakeholders to realise customer benefits.

What You Will Need:

A degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, water management, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in leading initiatives related to water information reporting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Experience working in a collaborative environment.

Knowledge of water management principles and practices.

Familiarity with national water information systems and frameworks.
