Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

This casual role is ideal for those seeking flexibility in their work schedule. As a kitchen assistant, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for preparing meals and ensuring a safe working environment.

  • You will assist chefs in the preparation of approximately 300 meals per day.
  • Your responsibilities will include coordinating the wash-up area during shifts, directing volunteers as needed.
  • You may be required to unload truck deliveries and collect food from dry store and freezer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a kitchen hand is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and weekdays.
  • A Certificate II or III in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or Safe Food Handling and Manual Handling Certificate would be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations in relation to food hygiene standards and workplace safety is necessary.
  • You will need to demonstrate a proven ability to manage the kitchen & laundry environment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • An effective team player with the ability to work independently is essential.
