Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced data governance specialist to drive strategic initiatives, focusing on data retention, protection, and quality management.

This is a full-time contract opportunity based in Melbourne CBD, with a flexible working environment that combines office and home time.

  • Collect and document information about company data assets.
  • Analyse data retention requirements.
  • Classify data assets according to their confidentiality.
  • Analyse data flows and document data lineage.
  • Implement data quality rules.
  • Support data stewards in monitoring and resolving data issues.
  • Facilitate periodic data governance activities such as retention rule reviews.
  • Develop and facilitate data management training.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications at a degree level in data management, computer science, risk management, or a related field.
  • CDMP certification and/or DAMA membership (highly desirable).
  • At least 3+ years experience in a data governance role.
  • Experience in business analysis and data catalog, such as Microsoft Purview or Collibra.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Superior time management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
