About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Business Partner to play a crucial part in the financial sustainability of our organization.

  • Provide expert financial information, insights, and guidance to senior leaders and business units across the organization.
  • Analyze business drivers and financial performance for the medical research sector.
  • Identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and financial risks.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to review financial performance and develop interventions.
  • Use tools like Power BI to analyze trends and financial impacts.
  • Assist with business case development and capital expenditure processes.
  • Reconcile grants and projects, support finance best practices, and build financial literacy.
  • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts for the organization.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensure ledger integrity.
  • Provide D365 training, triage business requests, assist with process improvement.
  • Support management and development of Assistant Accountant.
About You

We require a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a minimum three years of relevant experience in health, research, or a similar sector.

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in Australian Accounting Standards and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, meet deadlines, and problem-solve.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Skilled in budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management using intelligent tools.
  • Familiarity with financial issues in the health research sector, desired.
  • Experience in post-award financial management of research funding, desired.
