
Leading Technical Expert for Linux Kernel Delivery

We are seeking a seasoned technical professional to lead our Linux kernel team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing software development teams and a strong background in operating system kernel internals.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading a distributed team of software engineers in delivering high-quality Linux kernels. This includes working with silicon partners, ensuring Ubuntu Linux runs on diverse hardware platforms, defining quality control standards, mitigating security threats, and automating build, test, and delivery processes.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- Significant programming experience in C, with Python, Golang, or other similar languages highly regarded
- Substantial experience with operating system kernel internals and concepts, Linux preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers
- Ability to coordinate between multiple distinct teams to achieve common goals
- Familiarity with version control practices, ideally with git
- Prior experience developing with software packaging formats, direct Ubuntu/Debian/Snap experience highly valued
