About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator and Systems Programmer to join our Health Solutions Business Unit at Civica. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering essential database support for the design, development, and maintenance of key solutions using Informix and Microsoft SQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform programming and application support relevant to database technologies and systems integration for supported environments.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and provide Level 2 customer support, bringing experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Oversee, respond to, and report on environmental metrics (both application and platform) in alignment with established customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) pertaining to availability, performance, and capacity.
  • Join the on-call support team to address incidents that occur outside regular working hours and during public holidays.
  • Have a solid background in Database Administration, particularly with Informix Server or MS SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining Informix and 4GL solutions.
  • Be proficient in shell scripting languages (Perl, Python, PowerShell) along with application development, debugging, and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Have a strong understanding of indexes, index management, and statistics.
  • Familiarity with Linux Server environments (SuSE, RedHat) platforms.
