About the Role

At Kyndryl, we're seeking a skilled Mainframe Db2 System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you'll be responsible for managing and administering the backbone of our application database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, monitor, optimize, and maintain Db2 application databases to ensure peak performance.
  • Develop and implement reliable backup and recovery plans to protect client data in the event of a failure.
  • Manage ongoing DB2 application database housekeeping, including Reorg, Runstats, Load, Unload, and other tasks.
  • Collaborate with Mainframe Db2 System Administrators to monitor, report, and advise on compliant and best practice database user authorizations.
  • Support client end-users, acting on incoming issues and change requests, and corresponding with external client application developers and their in-house teams.
  • Conduct capacity monitoring, growth projections, and make pre-emptive requests for additional resourcing as needed to ensure system scalability and avoid outages.
Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain Baseline Security or NV1 or NV2 Clearance (as needed).
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in any IT-related course.
  • Excellent understanding of Db2 for z/OS V12 and higher, including Db2 Access Paths, deploying Db2 application structure changes, and minimizing outages.
  • Good to have 3rd Party tool exposure, particularly Platinum (Broadcomm) suite, BMC, and IBM DB-Admin tools.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 implementation and management, VMware ESXi experience, Public/private cloud management, automation experience, and vulnerability management.
