The role of Lecturer in the Skills for Study module is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong teaching and mentoring skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Facilitation: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and facilitating learning to students in the Skills for Study module, ensuring that all curriculum and training package requirements are met.
  • Mentoring and Assessment: The lecturer will mentor students to achieve academic success and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Lecturers are expected to stay up-to-date with technological and other developments in their field through professional development, enabling them to provide expert advice and guidance to the college and industry.

Requirements
  • A minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set.
  • At least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning.

Candidates who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however they will be required to enrol in and commence training in an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.
