Veterinary Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our team at Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH). As a key member of our veterinary nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality cancer treatment services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy administration, wound care, and pain management.
- Collaborate with our veterinary oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary oncologist.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy agents, and maintain accurate records of patient treatment.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in veterinary oncology.
- Qualified in a Cert 4 in Vet Nursing or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clients, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic medical/oncological diseases and associated terminology.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently, with a high level of enthusiasm and initiative.
