Support Worker Role

We are seeking passionate and dedicated support workers to join our team in Goulburn, NSW. This role is a unique opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of women and children escaping domestic violence.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our specialist domestic and family violence program in Goulburn/Mulwaree, Yass Valley, and Upper Lachlan LGAs. This involves providing intensive case work to women and children affected by domestic and family violence, developing and implementing safety plans and case management strategies to support victim/survivors, and working collaboratively with key agencies to ensure comprehensive support for client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver the SHLV program in Goulburn/Mulwaree, Yass Valley, and Upper Lachlan LGAs.
  2. Provide intensive case work to women and children affected by domestic and family violence.
  3. Develop and implement safety plans and case management strategies to support victim/survivors.
  4. Work collaboratively with key agencies to ensure comprehensive support for client needs.


Requirements:
  1. Tertiary qualification in a social science or related field and/or specialized skills sufficient to perform at this level.
  2. Current Driver's Licence.
  3. Satisfactory Criminal record check.
  4. Current Working with Children Check (NSW).
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the impacts of domestic violence on women and children.
  6. Demonstrated experience in case planning and coordination of people with complex support needs.
  7. Understanding of, and demonstrated ability to work with human service agencies.
