Job Title: Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team.

  • This is an opportunity to work with people with disabilities, young people, children in Out of Home Care, their families and communities.
  • You will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our customers by providing person-centered support.
About the Role

This role offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilize your skills and experience to support individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Mentor customers to explore and develop their personal interests and hobbies.
  2. Coach independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills.
  3. Administer medication and follow individual support plans.
  4. Write clear and concise handover notes and incident reports.
  5. Help customers engage with local communities and culture through Community Participation Programs and recreational activities.
Requirements
  • Versatile communication skills to interact with verbal and non-verbal customers.
  • AU Driver's Licence (mandatory requirement).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willing to obtain).
  • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID0011.
  • Formal qualifications in Disability or Community Services, advantageous.
