Occupational Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome work-related or non-work-related injuries, or illnesses that debilitate them from working.

  • Evaluate treatment and rehabilitation needs for workers with injuries or illnesses.
  • Conduct assessments such as initial needs, workplace evaluations, ergonomics, and activities of daily living.
  • Assess clients' future employment or training options by reviewing their transferable skills, qualifications, and interests.
  • Develop effective case management plans to coordinate and monitor clients' progress towards returning to work.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to facilitate business objectives and build strong relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse range of people and organizations across various industries, including government, mining, retail, emergency services, manufacturing, transport, security, hospitality, and labour hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients, including assessment, intervention, and education.
  • Work closely with clients, employers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement return-to-work plans.
  • Conduct workplace assessments to identify barriers to employment and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Eligibility for AHPRA accreditation upon graduating.
  • Recent graduation (within 12 months) or graduating in [Year].
  • Comcare accreditation (desirable but not essential).
  • A current Working with Children Check and a clear pre-employment national criminal check.
  • A full driver's license.
