FX Trading Career Path

A chance to learn and develop a long term career on the FX Forwards Desk, understanding how our desk acts as an intermediary facilitating Forward FX trades in the wholesale financial markets.

This includes transacting daily trades between commercial and investment banks. Trainees will also learn how banks use FWD FX as a hedging and trading tool.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Promote the company and provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
  2. Identify trade opportunities and calculate strategies.
  3. Maintain and develop existing client relationships and make contact with prospective new clients where appropriate.
  4. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work; actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferences.
  5. Understand the desk's business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.

Essential skills include:

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing tasks.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • People orientated, able to engage with different types of people.
  • Demonstrated resilience.

Desirable skills include:

  • A degree in economics, finance or related field.
  • Previous sales experience.
