Associate Trader

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated entry-level trader to join our team as an Associate Trader.

This role is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of Equity and FX trades under the supervision of a Trader or Senior Trader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute low-touch Equity and FX orders across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring optimal execution performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate execution performance across multiple dimensions using in-house and third-party transaction cost analysis tools.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the execution algorithms, order and execution management systems utilized globally.
  • Develop expertise in regional market microstructures and regulations, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Manage real-time trade reporting, matching, and settlement processes seamlessly.
  • Liaise with Portfolio Management, Research, and operations teams in the region and across the globe, fostering effective collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or quantitative-related fields.
  • At least 2 years of financial services experience, with 1 year of equity trading experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to operate and prioritize in fast-paced environments, dealing with complex situations effectively.
  • Completion of applicable trading exams and current possession of required certifications/licenses for trading.
  • Basic knowledge of execution analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and large data sets, driving data-driven insights.
  • Experience with various trading technology tools, including OMS (Charles River a plus), EMS & Trade Cost Analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced coursework in computer science, statistics, econometrics, or mathematics, enhancing analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with SQL databases and VBA programming, with knowledge of other programming languages like Python being a plus.
  • Background working within the Trading department, providing valuable industry insights.
