Overview

The Shellharbour City Council is seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager to lead its Waste Services team in delivering sustainable and cost-effective waste and recycling services.

This role involves overseeing the collection and processing of waste and unwanted resources for residential and business customers, in line with the Council's Waste Strategy.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for procuring and managing critical contracts providing essential services to approximately 30,000 properties weekly, ensuring the Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot remains compliant and offers high-quality service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic project management, including securing and delivering continuous service improvement through innovative service delivery and customer education.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • Proven experience in contract management and strategic project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team to achieve organisational goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
