We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Environmental Services team at Gosford Hospital as an Environmental Services Assistant.
As a valued member of the team, you will play a vital role in maintaining hygiene and safety standards across the hospital, helping us deliver top-quality care to our patients and support to our staff.
About the RoleAs an Environmental Services Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff at Gosford Hospital. This includes general cleaning of hospital wards, public areas, bathrooms, and offices, as well as assisting with waste removal, restocking supplies, and other support tasks as required.
You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, following set cleaning schedules and infection control procedures to ensure high hygiene standards are met at all times. This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
The position operates on a rotating roster, which includes shifts on weekends and public holidays. While your primary location will be at Gosford Hospital, you may occasionally be asked to work at other sites within the district, helping to maintain consistency and service quality across facilities.
Key Responsibilities- General cleaning of hospital wards, public areas, bathrooms, and offices.
- Assisting with waste removal and restocking supplies.
- Following set cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, general assistance, or a similar role.
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to take direction from supervisors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
