Environmental Services Assistant

We are seeking motivated and reliable **Environmental Services Assistants** to join our team at **Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital**. These **casual positions** offer the opportunity to work in a supportive, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. Our environmental services assistant’s play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and patient care.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and hygienic ward and unit environment in line with **Infection Control** and **Workplace Health and Safety** regulations. Under the guidance of the Environmental Services Coordinators, you will provide essential operational support across the hospital.

**Joining our team, you will be responsible for**:

- Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres.
- Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
- Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
- Adhere to all infection control guidelines and principles.

**About You**
- Prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirable
- Availability to work morning / afternoon / evening and weekend shifts required
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Proven experience with hazard identification
- Understanding of hygiene principles.
- Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available [Desirable]

**Additionally, you will**:

- Perform all **cleaning** tasks, including decontamination of beds and **cleaning of Wards** and **equipment**[Desirable].
- Perform **laundry**tasks, decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the **Clinical Waste** [Desirable].
- Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
- Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.
