The role of the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist is integral to supporting the wellbeing, engagement, and connectedness of students at our school.
As a key member of the Wellbeing Team, this role focuses on delivering student wellbeing services, providing individual and small-group support, and implementing proactive programs that promote mental health, resilience, and positive relationships.
By fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist helps ensure that every student feels valued, respected, and ready to engage in their learning.
This role requires collaboration with staff, families, and external agencies to provide pastoral care and guidance to students, assisting them in navigating academic, social, and emotional challenges.
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist contributes to the development of strategies that improve student engagement, attendance, and connectedness within the school.
Through these efforts, the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist builds strong, trusting relationships with students and the wider school community while ensuring access to additional supports where needed, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
A key aspect of this role is fostering strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, recognising them as the first and most important educators of our young people.
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist will work closely with families, providing regular communication, guidance, and support as they navigate the many challenges and milestones of parenting and family life.
