The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic driver to join our metro team at our Darwin depot. As our new driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of general freight to and from customer-specified sites in the metro and regional areas of Darwin. You will work Monday to Friday with rotating weekends, enjoying a work-life balance while earning a competitive hourly rate.
Your Responsibilities:
- Complete local pickups and deliveries to our vendors and clients across Darwin.
- Transport various types of goods, including produce, general freight, and refrigerated freight, across the metro and regional areas.
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, including trucks and trailers, in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Load and restrain all loads in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical fitness of vehicles and report any issues or incidents promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering goods on time and handling any inquiries or issues professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
- Current MC Driver's Licence with demonstrated experience in your licence class.
- Current LF licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various driving conditions.
