Compliance Professional - Risk Management

Overview:

We are seeking a Compliance Professional to join our team in the role of Risk Management. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our compliance capability within the first line of defence, promote a proactive compliance culture, and ensure adherence to internal standards and external obligations.

You will play a key role in identifying and mitigating regulatory risks, translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions, and uplifting the control environment. Your responsibilities will include providing compliance advice, contributing to risk-in-change assessments, and driving remediation and monitoring activities.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across divisions, contribute to governance forums, and support the delivery of BOQ Group's Compliance Strategy. You will help ensure compliance is owned and managed at the source, helping the business stay ahead of regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit teams in embedding effective compliance controls and translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate regulatory risks and uplift the control environment.
  • Provide compliance advice and contribute to risk-in-change assessments in collaboration with Line 2 Internal Audit and other stakeholders.
  • Drive remediation and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate across divisions and contribute to governance forums and the delivery of BOQ Group's Compliance Strategy.
Essential Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is essential for this role. A strong background in regulatory risk in financial services, understanding of APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory bodies is also required.

In addition, you will need experience designing and implementing compliance controls that are effective and practical. An analytical mindset with attention to detail, ability to identify control gaps and assess compliance risks is highly valued.

You will also need strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with compliance frameworks. Professional certifications such as AACI or ACI 10980NAT are highly regarded.
