As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical design and supply scope of large-scale projects. This role involves managing and directing key design and supply activities of suppliers and interfacing with other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will plan, direct, and manage the full scope of electrical design and supply scope packages to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and specification compliance.
  • This position involves managing and driving key design and supply activities of suppliers and interfacing with other project stakeholders (internal and external).
  • You will delegate tasks to a multi-disciplinary project team and manage to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Ensure Supplier's deliverables and interrelated work are completed sequentially and in accordance with the contract and the project's key delivery dates.
  • Communicate outputs and guide action based on the identification of any impacts on schedule, quality, and cost, and mitigation of impacts and reporting as required.
  • Share regular progress reports with stakeholders and clients.
  • Resolve issues or delays, reduce the risk of delays, and prevent cost overruns.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to solve technical, budget, and time constraints.
  • Review project documents such as design drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and changes, and take appropriate action if required.
  • Conduct regular meetings with suppliers and engineering/other stakeholders.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to enable the project to meet its schedule and obligations, minimize risk, and maximize opportunities for cost avoidance and/or reduction.
  • Regular interaction with Quality to ensure timely inspections and review inspection reports to address any material corrective actions required.
  • Monitor performance and/or KPIs and proactively resolve issues related to supplier performance; ensure that all records are methodically archived in line with procedures as the project progresses.
Your Profile
  • You should hold tertiary qualifications in Project Management / Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineer is an advantage.
  • Experience in the procurement of electrical plant and equipment for large infrastructure projects is essential.
  • A strong background in quality coordination in the supply chain is desirable.
  • Solid experience in electrical design practices is necessary.
  • Experience in Substation construction and installation is highly valued.
  • Expertise in HV and LV reticulation is required.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning of electrical power infrastructure is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders are crucial.
  • Proven project management expertise and experience in contract management and schedule interpretation are necessary.
  • Considerable experience managing all aspects of the delivery of design and supply scope for large-scale projects is required.
  • Financial management – demonstrable behavior in reducing costs and meeting budgets is essential.
  • Claims awareness is necessary.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and Aconex is an advantage.
  • Able to use initiative and solve problems through analytical thinking.
  • Able to work with cross-regional teams with a strong focus on delivering excellence.
