Maintenance Technician Role

Ensuring Operational Excellence as a Maintenance Technician

The role of a Maintenance Technician is pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation of our Fulfillment Center (FC). The primary focus lies on three key areas: safety, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment within the site to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
  • Prioritize health & safety best practices in all work carried out to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Rapidly respond to breakdowns, communicate effectively with affected teams, and efficiently resolve issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Support continuous improvement by analyzing breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions through the line manager to drive efficiency.
  • Maintain high levels of equipment availability for internal customers to enhance productivity and efficiency.
About Our Team:

We have a dedicated Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team that ensures our equipment performs at its best. We collaborate to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network, handling various aspects of Amazon's technical side, including compliance and efficiency.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A formal trade qualification, such as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, certified to at least Certificate III level.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems to streamline maintenance operations.
  • Fault-finding skills within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings to facilitate efficient maintenance.
  • Conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters experience to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Health & safety standards and regulations compliance to maintain a safe working environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Computer maintenance systems (CMMS) experience to leverage technology in maintenance operations.
  • Sortation machine experience to handle complex equipment with ease.
  • Industrial environment experience to adapt to fast-paced production environments.
  • Barcode scanner maintenance/configuration experience to optimize scanning efficiency.
  • Print and apply machine experience to handle labeling and packaging tasks efficiently.
