Job Summary

The role of Head of Flight Operations is a critical position within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing volunteer pilots, overseeing flight schedules, and collaborating with the Operations Manager to ensure safe and timely transportation services.

">Key Responsibilities
  • System Implementation: Lead the implementation, training, and development of Air Maestro's online safety management system and the Takeflite booking system.
  • Aircraft Maintenance: Manage aircraft maintenance and movements in partnership with the Head of Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Flight Scheduling: Oversee flight scheduling for volunteers in partnership with the Operations Manager.
  • Operations Reporting: Prepare monthly operations board reports.
  • Financial Management: Assist with financial budgeting, analysis, and forecasting of flights.
  • Pilot Recruitment: Volunteer pilot recruitment, management, and retention.
  • Team Leadership: Chair quarterly operational team meetings.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe working practices are adhered to, including incident and hazard reporting.
Requirements
  • Flight Experience: A minimum of 1000 hours flight time.
  • Instrument Time: A minimum of 100 hours instrument time.
