Job Title: Field Service Specialist

The role of a Field Service Specialist is to provide technical support and services to customers on-site. The specialist will work closely with the customer to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet those requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to ensure work is carried out to OEM standards.
  • Train new recruits as required.
  • Investigate equipment problems, recommend solutions, or coordinate quotes for new or retrofit equipment.
  • Perform necessary adjustments, modifications or repairs on customer machinery.
  • Use initiative to take action and develop ideas independently.
  • Discuss operating difficulties with customer representatives, explain causes of malfunctions, and suggest prevention measures.
  • Prepare reports detailing the nature of service calls and actions taken.
  • Recommend product design or service policy improvements based on field knowledge and customer feedback.
  • Deliver technical presentations to customers as part of training and development.
  • Complete reporting requirements such as progress reports.
  • Provide technical liaison between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
  • Provide hands-on mechanical field service work for customers.
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyze equipment and component failures.
  • Install and commission systems, machinery, and related spare parts and wear components.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products.
  • Provide field trip reports in accordance with company standards.
  • Promote OEM spare parts and wear materials to customers.
  • Determine customer needs and strive for excellence in service.

  • Strong technical skills and experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work at heights.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
