About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Optical Dispenser to join our team. As a market leader in ophthalmic safety lenses and frames, we provide high-quality products for the safety of people's sight.

This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to develop existing skills in optics with a small, progressive organization. Reporting to the General Manager, you will work with a dedicated team of professionals who encourage personal growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process orders received from employees into the assigned software system (Optomate) for production in a timely manner.
  • Seek approval from site managers for production and supply of safety eyewear as required.
  • Assist with day-to-day activities around the supply of prescription and non-prescription safety eyewear.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone and email.

Daily Duties:

  1. Order Processing:
    • Process and enter orders received from employees into the assigned software system (Optomate) for production in a timely manner.
    • Seek approval from various site managers for production and supply of safety eyewear as required.
    • Assist with maintaining correct stock levels for all sample prescription safety frames and non-prescription safety eyewear stock.
    • Report on and maintain levels of frames on hand, including minimum annual counts.
    • Replenish accessories and cleaning products as needed, updating stock levels accordingly.
    • Liaise with AAS Head Office on frames, accessories, and cleaning products for replenishment after discussions with the Safety Eyewear consultant.
  2. Frame Management:
    • Assist with daily processing of safety orders.
    • Provide onsite services and dispense safety eyewear at various sites within the facility as needed.
    • Ensure completed safety products pass final Quality Assessment before dispensing.
    • Liaise with optical stores for prescription details or lens needs.
    • Adhere to safety standards in daily processing.
    • Assist team members with safety order processing and supply needs.
    • Meet and aim to exceed sales targets.
    • Educate customers about the products provided.
