Optical Network Development Engineer Role

">Job Description:

As a member of the Core Networking team, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality optical products that enable seamless communication between AWS Data Centers and PoPs.

The InterDC Optical Services team is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the optical infrastructure used to interconnect our global network. This includes ensuring diversity of supply, reducing data transfer costs, and continually improving quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans for evaluating new hardware and software features, automating optical test plans, and qualifying optical modules.
  • Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to identify and address operation issues, improve quality, and streamline RMA processes.

This role requires strong technical skills, including experience with optical communication systems, networking planning, and optimization. You should also have a solid understanding of operating and maintaining optical (DWDM) networks.

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of work experience on optical communication systems, networking planning, and optimization.
  • 1+ years of work experience on operating and maintaining optical (DWDM) networks.
  • 1+ years of professional development experience with Python or a similar scripting language for automation scripting.
