As a Coal Sampling and Testing Specialist, you will play a vital role in our Energy Minerals Division, conducting physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coal Sampling and Testing - Accurately conduct physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples.
- Sample Management - Ensure accuracy, precision, and traceability of prepared samples.
- Sample Receipting and Storage - Receipt, record, sort, and store coal samples as required.
- Equipment Maintenance - Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
- Shift Workflow Planning - Plan shift workflow and coordinate pick-ups and analysis.
- Compliance - Comply with analytical methods, procedures, and SGS Quality Systems.
- Workplace Safety - Maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Coal Sampling Experience - Coal sampling, preparation, and testing experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
- General Mineral Laboratory Experience - Previous experience in general mineral laboratory environments is preferred.
- Computer Skills - Good computer skills, including Excel, are beneficial.
- Teamwork and Communication - Ability to be a team player with strong communication skills.
- Pressure Management - Ability to work under pressure.
