Production Traineeship

About the role:
As a Production Trainee with Cement Australia, your responsibilities will include learning how to operate processing plant equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner as well as providing technical support to our site staff. As a Trainee, you will be supporting the Production team throughout several different rotations; including but not limited to our Laboratory, Control Room, Dispatch, and our East End Mine site. Throughout all your rotations, you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of work processes, procedures, and practices on site, and this includes being a part of the team that assists with our yearly scheduled shutdowns.
Please note: Applications for this position close Friday 21st June at 5:00pm.
What you can expect:
As a Production Trainee for Cement Australia, this is an insight of what your day-to-day might look like:
From Day 1 – Meet the team and get to know our largest manufacturing site (Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to know the ins and outs of the site from day 1... there is a lot to see and learn about our operations)
1 month in – By this point, you will be deep into learning about all our safety procedures, safe operations of machinery / equipment and becoming familiar with the general operations of the different departments within the site.
6 months in – After having experienced what it is like within our production crew, this is where you will have started to get some hands-on experience with the diversity of the work
You will commence your rotations in each of the departments mentioned below and learn all about how each department plays a crucial role in Cement Australia producing the same great products it has for the last 40+ years
Laboratory | Learn and support Lab Technicians in the quality assurance process and testing of raw materials.
Control Room | Observe and engage with Panel Operators to build an understanding of cement mill and kiln panel operations.
Production Services | Provide support to our Production crew members in their day-to-day activities.
Dispatch | Learn and develop an understanding on the support required for our crew in the bagging and dispatch of our packaged products.
East End Mine | Learn and support our Operators in the raw material extraction process.
Production Planning | Observe and engage with the Planning team to develop a broad understanding of the site planning functions and processes.
