The role involves assisting solicitors and administrative staff to develop, coordinate, facilitate, and implement outreach services, community legal education sessions, and engagement with Aboriginal communities.

The successful applicant will be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about working with their community and has experience in responding to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are informed of their legal options and assist in addressing their unmet legal needs.
  • Assist solicitors and administrative staff to develop, coordinate, facilitate, and implement outreach services, community legal education sessions, and engagement with Aboriginal communities.
  • Assist the Solicitor in Charge, Office Manager, and solicitors on local community issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check, or be willing to get one before starting work with us.
  • Have a valid Driver's Licence.
