Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager Job Description

The role of a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our mining activities.

Maintenance Managers are responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance and services activities. They must manage employees and facilities effectively to ensure that preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs are performed efficiently and effectively.

A successful candidate will provide leadership and mentoring to their team, promoting a safe and productive work environment.

They will also work collaboratively with the team to develop and maintain efficient maintenance practices, ensuring that all maintenance targets are met on time and within budget while prioritizing safety awareness and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance and services activities
  • Manage employees and facilities to ensure preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs are performed efficiently and effectively
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to your team, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and maintain efficient maintenance practices
  • Ensure all maintenance targets are met on time and within budget, while prioritizing safety awareness and best practices
Requirements:
  • Nationally recognized trade qualification in a relevant field
  • Minining Supervisor Certifications (G1, G8, G9, and G2)
  • Standard 11 Competency
  • At least 5 years' experience managing heavy equipment maintenance in workshop and field environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment commonly used in mining operations
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and understand operational needs
  • Solid understanding of HSET standards within QLD mining
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen aligned with project goals
