About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer/Scientist to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for catchment and water balance modelling, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, water monitoring data interpretation and analysis, and development of environmental/water monitoring and management plans.

  • Catchment and water balance modelling enables us to understand the dynamics of water movement and distribution within a catchment area.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling helps us predict the flow of water through various systems, including rivers, lakes, and aquifers.
  • Water monitoring data interpretation and analysis inform our decisions regarding water quality, quantity, and usage.
  • Development of environmental/water monitoring and management plans ensures that we comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
  1. Catchment and water balance modelling, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, and water monitoring data interpretation and analysis
  2. Development of environmental/water monitoring and management plans, environmental reporting and assessments, and environmental auditing
  3. Interpretation and application of guidelines, legislation, and policy relating to water management
  4. Preparation of scientific and technical reports, project management, and client liaison
  5. Mentoring of graduate/junior staff and some travel and site work may be required intermittently
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Possess a relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar
  • Have 3+ years' experience in a similar position, providing advice to the mining, construction, energy, industrial processing, or public sectors
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to prioritise tasks, work autonomously and contribute to a positive team culture both in the local office and for ATC Williams more broadly
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have prior experience in environmental data analysis and hydrological/hydraulic modelling
