About the Role
Are you ready to shape the future of transport infrastructure through cutting-edge flood modelling and surface water engineering? We're looking for a passionate and experiencedAssociate Flood Modeller/ Hydrologist to join our high-performingBridges, Aviation & Roads (BAR)team based inBrisbane or the Sunshine Coast.
This is your chance to work on some of Queensland's most significant road, rail, and civil infrastructure projects, delivering innovative, sustainable, and resilient water solutions that make a real impact.
What You'll Do
- Lead and deliversurface water modellingfor major transport infrastructure projects.
- Undertakeflood impact assessments, waterway assessments, and surface water modelling.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrateflood modelling and drainage designinto large-scale infrastructure planning.
- Prepare high-qualitytechnical reports, manage project deliverables, and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to acollaborative, future-focused team culture.
- Support proposal development and contribute to business growth acrossQueensland.
About You
You will have:
- ABachelor's or Master's degreein Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- At least 10 years' experiencein flood modelling and surface water engineering for transport infrastructure. Experience in drainage design would also be looked upon favourably, but is not required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in tools likeTUFLOW, WBNM, RORB, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, 12D, DRAINS, MUSIC, and QGIS platforms.
- Strong knowledge ofARR,TMR standards, andAustroads guidelines. Experience with rail projects would also be beneficial to the role.
- Experience in CFD modelling and/or programming languages (e.g. python) is a plus, but not a requirement for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to flood impact assessments and waterway assessments for infrastructure planning and design.
- The ability to work across multiple office locations and projects if required.
- Experience working withState road authorities(e.g., TMR, TfNSW) is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
