Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at Charterhouse Recruitment. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function for our clients through an outsource provider on a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the outsource payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
- Prepare and review payroll reports.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Manage employee deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure the timely submission of reports.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries.
- Process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and other employee changes.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams for smooth payroll operations.
- Stay updated with payroll regulations and industry best practices.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and statutory regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Quick Books, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-state payroll.
