Job Description

As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mining operations. This exciting opportunity allows you to work on a family-friendly roster, ensuring a healthy work-life balance and ample time to spend with loved ones.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the planning and oversight of all mining operations on a short-term horizon. Your leadership skills will directly impact our ability to meet production targets, optimize grade control, and ensure operational excellence.

You will work closely with a highly skilled team of engineers and operational staff, serving as a vital link between strategic planning and on-the-ground execution. Your expertise will be essential in navigating a dynamic environment, providing real-time feedback for long-term planning, and driving continuous improvement across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the short-term planning function, ensuring the STP team produces detailed, actionable plans for all mining operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and planning staff, providing guidance to ensure efficient budget execution and adaptability in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Navigate a dynamic operational environment, using strong analytical and interpersonal skills to address real-time challenges such as grade variance, noise control, and blast planning.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, or related discipline.
  • Extensive proven experience in a comparable position, ideally in the context of large open-cut mining or mine engineering.
  • Proficiency in mine planning tools and software, with a preference for expertise in Alastri.
