About the Role:

The Overall Purpose

An Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in enhancing or maintaining people's independent functioning in all aspects of living.

They assist individuals limited by physical or psychological illness, neurological dysfunction, developmental delay, or the ageing process.

Evaluation, consultation, and treatment are key aspects of Occupational Therapy.

An Occupational Therapist works according to established best practices and supports core business by providing service, guidance, and advice within this position's speciality area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage internal and external referrals effectively.
  2. Assess clients' functional and ergonomic capacity to inform effective interventions.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments of cognition and decision-making capacity for Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
  4. Provide input to enhance clients' functional independence and overall quality of life.
  5. Recommend and trial necessary assistive technology to support client needs.
  6. Facilitate home modifications and provide education on various topics to empower clients.
  7. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared goals.
  8. Evaluate and review peer recommendations to ensure alignment with best practice standards.
  9. Design, coordinate, and evaluate projects in response to identified client needs.
  10. Maintain a commitment to delivering services that reflect current best practice.
