About Our Team

This role works under the Flight Commander, leading a small team of military and civilian technicians. The team maintains Communication and Navigation Systems (CNS) to provide Air Traffic Services (ATS) to aircraft in Richmond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently with some authority to investigate information from diverse sources and explore innovative approaches to support business objectives.
  • Lead a mixed team, set priorities, monitor workflow, and exercise people and financial responsibilities to achieve outcomes.
  • Manage operations and performance of Defence employees in accordance with legislation, APS policies, and procedures.
  • Undertake analysis, research, and planning to meet business outcomes.
  • Provide detailed technical advice on complex communications activities.
  • Engage stakeholders and develop clear understanding of methodology and practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Eligibility for Additional Remuneration

This role is eligible for an Individual Flexibility Arrangement, allowing additional remuneration to be provided beyond the base salary.

  • Be personable and act independently as Technical Team Lead.
  • Hold relevant skills and qualifications.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a military environment or transferring skills from a specialist role.

Compensation Package

This position comes with a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $91,702 - $104,753, plus additional benefits such as IFA and Superannuation.
