Job Title: Horticulturist

As a horticulturist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving parks, gardens, and other landscaped areas.

  • You will ensure that all gardens, including annuals, native and non-native plants, are well-maintained and meet service requirements.
  • This involves providing recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment, and improvement, as well as implementing these changes as required.
  • You will also provide on-the-job skills development and training to staff, undertake risk and hazard assessments, and identify and rectify landscape deficiencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in horticulture or a similar field.
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Chemical users accreditation.
  • Experience in garden maintenance.
