We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to spearhead our junior staff members, as we continue to expand and acquire new practices. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possessing a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage a small team effectively.

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing accountancy practice, boasting a close-knit team across three offices in South Wales. This Manager role has been created to support our Directors in strategizing and overseeing our junior members of staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 3-4 trainee accountants, ensuring seamless client workflow and daily liaison with the Directors.

The role also encompasses traditional managerial responsibilities such as finalising year-end company accounts, corporation tax reviews, and personal tax returns.">
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert advice and information to clients
  • Year-end accounts preparation, either individually or by reviewing delegated work from your team
  • Personal and corporate tax returns for clients
  • Managing the client VAT returns process within the business
  • Handling client queries on technical software, bookkeeping, tax, VAT, etc.
  • Industry standard compliance for you and your team (money laundering, quality assurance, etc.)
  • SUPPORTING YOUR TEAM'S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, mentoring them to pass relevant industry qualifications

Requirements:
  • ICAEW / ACCA qualification
  • 7-8 years' experience in accountancy within a practice OR a minimum of 4 years accountancy but proven history of managing a small team
  • Experience in accounting for small, owner-managed businesses
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and confident use of other Microsoft software (Word, Teams, etc.)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
  • CLEAR, CONFIDENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND A WILLINGNESS TO BE PROACTIVE WHEN ENGAGING WITH CLIENTS
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude, eager to carve an integral role within our business
