Disability Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities in various settings.

  1. This position requires a willingness to provide high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and autonomy.
  2. You will be working in a variety of settings, including community, home, and supported independent living homes (SIL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Availability to work a combination of sleepover and day shifts as requested.
  • Positive attitude towards providing individualized support to people with disabilities.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Ability to work within a team environment, such as SIL.
  • Experience in the industry is desirable but not necessary.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or commitment to complete.
  • Paid Blue Card or willing to obtain prior to commencement.
  • NDIS Worker Clearance Paid Blue Card or willing to obtain prior to commencement.
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate.
  • Reliable vehicle & valid Driver License.

Requirements:

  • Ability to commute/relocate: Brisbane, QLD, reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
  • Licence/Certification: First Aid & CPR Certification, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Driver License.
  • Work Authorisation: Australia.
  • Work Location: In person.

Preferred Experience:

  • Working with people with a disability: 1 year (preferred).
  • Licence/Certification: Blue Card, Yellow Card, First Aid Certification, Full Driver License.
