Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

The role is available in CAMH, based at Nepean Hospital, providing community mental health care to young people up to 17 years. The team aims to deliver exceptional community mental health services for young people with moderate to severe mental health issues, underpinned by evidence-informed and therapeutic approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting
  • Demonstrating expertise and experience relevant to the position
  • Supporting and working collaboratively in interprofessional contexts that include lived-experience professionals
  • Communicating clearly, inclusively, and respectfully with consumers, carers, and healthcare teams
  • Contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance activities
  • Participating in basic, clinical, and applied research activities relevant to the needs of the Mental Health Service and its staff
Requirements:
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent as provided by the Health Insurance Act 1997
  • Advanced Certificate of Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Current NSW driver's licence
