Director of Student Wellbeing and Education

Mt Hira College is an independent, co-educational Islamic College located in the South-Eastern suburb of Keysborough. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Director of Student Wellbeing and Education.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will have a key responsibility for overseeing the wellbeing of students attending Mt Hira College across Foundation-Year 12. This role requires positive relationships between students, their families and staff that promote and develop wellbeing in a holistic sense.
Responsibilities- Promote and facilitate current and emerging positive approaches to enabling and supporting our students' wellbeing, along with achieving the College Pedagogical vision.
- Lead a collaborative approach to Child Safety that demonstrates the highest levels of compliance.
- Lead and manage an approach to students and their wellbeing that is holistic, balanced and fulfills the College's values.
- Collaborate with College leaders to promote an integrated approach to managing student wellbeing.
- Promote student voice in the life of the College.
The successful applicant will possess relevant degree/post graduate qualifications specialising in the areas of Mental Health/Wellbeing, Counselling or Psychology. Current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; or membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers Association or membership of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) / ACA (Australian Counselling Association) is also required.
A strong understanding of current research and practice in the field of children and adolescent mental health, wellbeing and education is essential. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within and across teams to achieve educational improvement and positive wellbeing is also necessary.
The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. They will be well organised and flexible, possess a growth mindset and be patient and relationship-oriented.
The estimated salary for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
