Pipeline Operator Role Overview

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to operate and maintain gas facilities and pipelines.

This role is key in the Gas Transmission and Networks maintenance team, with opportunities to work on state-of-the-art facilities.

  • Maintenance tasks will include planned and corrective activities on various assets including Trunk Receiving Stations, Package Offtake Stations, Primary Receiving Stations, Transmission Pipelines, Distribution Network, Renewable Energy Assets, and Compressor Stations.
  • Maintenance will be carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Candidates will liaise closely with Asset Management and Engineering teams.
  • Pipeline duties will encompass mechanical work, documentation, records maintenance, establishment, and upkeep of a safe worksite as per OHS&E requirements.
  • Responding to gas-related incidents and emergencies will also be an essential task.
  • Intrastate travel and participation in rotating on-call rosters may be required.
About You

Applicants must possess trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter qualifications with significant experience working within Operations and Maintenance teams in the gas transmission or processing industry.

  • High-pressure gas and gas processing experience are necessary.
  • Knowledge and skills related to reciprocating/Screw Compressor operation and maintenance are essential.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities should be exceptional.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite computer skills is expected.
  • Team players who prioritize safety and have a positive attitude are highly valued.
