An exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership and supervision in a dynamic Emergency Department environment is available.

The selected candidate will be based in the Emergency Department, participating in various models of clinical care, including short stay and fast track. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as leadership in further developing acute care in the ED.

Key responsibilities include providing high-quality patient care, supervising junior staff, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

The successful applicant will have completed a primary course of COVID-19 vaccination or hold an approved medical contraindication certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Purpose of the Position:

To provide clinical management to patients presenting to the Emergency Department, including within the Paediatric Emergency Department. To initiate and participate in clinical teaching and research, as well as quality initiatives.

Selection Criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated behaviours that reinforce CORE Values: Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment
  • Appropriate experience with clinical, diagnostic, and technical skills commensurate with practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment
