Job Role Overview

The position of Chief Engineer Manager oversees the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and asset management outcomes for the community.

This key leadership role is responsible for the design, development, and management of Council's infrastructure assets including roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, stormwater networks, and marine structures.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Engineering Services team to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Act as the asset owner for multiple asset classes, ensuring compliance with relevant asset management policies, strategies, and plans.
  • Manage the development and implementation of Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Provide authoritative technical advice to stakeholders, the community, and senior officials.
  • Deliver effective project management including procurement, contract administration, and budget control.
  • Engage in high-level consultation and liaison with residents, government agencies, contractors, and elected officials.
  • Drive innovation and sustainability in infrastructure planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
